#whoisright

There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some argued, “He’s a good man,” but others said, “He’s nothing but a fraud who deceives the people.” But no one had the courage to speak favorably about him in public...

Not everyone can be right at the same time; there has to be one truth and one lie on which what is right can be revealed. You cannot please everybody with the truth.

Today's scripture is from John 7:12-13

Page CXVI

Derek Webb's remix of a hymn sung by Page CXVI.
My favorite tune for the past two months.

From Page CXVI's Facebook page:
Page CXVI is a project started with the idea of making hymns accessible and known again. They are some of the richest, most meaningful, and moving pieces of music ever written.

Great music. Good for reflection and devotion time!

#gymthoughts

The first time I went to a gym, I remember thinking, Aisha, this is your rock bottom.

I love to exercise, but I drew (DREW, past tense) the line at gym. It's boring, repetitive and the same thing day in day out! And gym memberships are ridiculously expensive to the point of exorbitant! How can people be interested in walking on a treadmill for 50 bucks an hour when you can walk outside in the garden?!

Personally, I feel there are better and more engaging ways to work out.
Housechores, you get your house clean AND a workout.
Speed walking in shopping malls, that's what I'm talking about!
Dance classes, for goodness sake, a thousand times more fun than a treadmill!

But there I was. Walking at a speed of 5km/hour on the treadmill, listening to Gimme Hope, Joanna over the speakers while other sweaty bodies run their course around me.

The second time at the gym, I went alone. Which is no mean feat, okay. Have you seen the demographics of the gym?

Male, 25-45 years.

I don't know about you girls, but when I was there, it was really awkward. Not awkward like body-conscious-awkward but awkward like what-did-I-get-myself-into-awkward.

I finally know what it feels like to be a guy in a lingerie shop.

When I spoke to my sister about the music they play at the gym, she said it was such a common topic of rant of many people. Gym music. But seriously, Lite FM? Who pumps to Josh Groban? If you want to attract the young crowd you gotta play some clubbing music, man.

Then when I pointed to my cousin that there was no air-con in the gym, she said it was unlike other gyms where they fixed the air cond so cold, you had to exert yourself to even break a sweat.

"Run faster, sweat more, sprain everything,"

robert delong global concepts.

I LOVE this song. I'd love it even more if it didn't have profanity.
Come on Robert, the f-bomb doesn't make you cool. You're cool just as you are!

#theproblemwithsocialmedia

The biggest problem with social media is the biggest advantage it boasts - immediacy. Most users feel like since this channel is specifically made for them, they are privileged to have the "right" to get answers when they demand for it, no matter the time of the day.

a place in Positano

The Champagne Bar at Le Sirenuse, Positano, Italy. I swear I had an exact dream of this place.

I had earlier let a small seed of negative thought wander in my mind. It filled my mind with such imaginings and corrupted my train of thought that I felt like the lowliest and most useless creature on the surface of the earth. Then I decided that was not my fault nor my doing, and I would not allow myself to wallow in such deprecating pools of self-pity.

So I went to Pinterest.

Okay bye.
