when i am down and oh my soul is weary (you just read that in josh groban's voice)

Whenever I feel not worthy of His grace, I bring to remembrance the death of Jesus. Like, how can the torturous death of the Savior not be enough to tell you that you are loved?

Whenever I feel like I'm not doing a great job of being His hands and feet, I remind myself of a friend of mine. Her fullness of joy and true peace tells me she has her sights (and mind) set on something above!

Whenever I feel like giving up...I've not found the solution for that yet.

"i think i'm in love with you"

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I don't really spend much time writing about relationships because I don't have the experience to back it up, BUT I've heard far too many gems of wisdom to not share it here!

I think the best relationship advice anyone has ever gave me is this:

The best thing you can do for your life partner is to know yourself completely, grow in faith and to mature in mind. Develop your capabilities and talents to the full and continue to grow in all areas - and also pray that God will bring you and your other half's path to meet at the right time, at the right place.

Your life partner is not there to complete you or to compete with you - he or she is there to complement you.

Sometimes I fear that I think too much about this (even though you rarely hear me talk about it), but then I think about the comic about one stickman whose thought bubble wishes he were in a relationship with a girl. Then, in the next column, he's holding hands with a girl but the thought bubble is wishing he were single.

Which brings me to my final point - if you're not happy or content with where you are and what you are doing AT THIS POINT IN TIME, it's very unlikely you'll be happier or more content in a relationship with someone else.

500 Days of Summer

Like I always say. Most of the time (especially if you've never been in a relationship) we only like the IDEA of being in a relationship. (I, for one, like the idea of a boyfriend) But in the end, if it's not meant to be with either one of the party, (or if you're forcing it) you could end up like Tom in 500 Days of Summer (that dude was just asking for his heart to be broken, man).

Go travel and discover the world.

Volunteer in an old folk's home.

Be unburdened by the responsibilities of a relationship.

Celebrate your 20th birthday.

Then, come and talk to me about making the first move on the boy/girl.

I hope this short post has given you some food for thought. If you're already in a relationship, good for you. If you're not and still feel like you wanna go on a date even though you're barely out of high school, I suggest a date with a group of friends. Half the commitment, double the fun, triple the laughs. True story.

hair

The stench was overpowering. It felt gaseous and volatile, the fumes making its way through my hair to my nasal cavity.
